[Vk5-wx-sonde] auto_rx hanging since 18.04 upgrade

I have not tried running auto_rx under Ubuntu - the original intent was for
it to run under Raspbian.

I have only just recently updated my thinkpad to 18.04 so I will see if I
can replicate the issue.
