Yep, the database compact operation has taken waaaaay longer than expected.
The habitat DB is *huuge*.

The gmaps 'for development only' thing was because habhub exceeded it's
gmaps API free credit limit. Unfortunately the use of Google maps for this
kind of application is not free above a certain usage level. The habhub
admins are currently evaluating options, one of which is to rewrite habhub
in a different mapping system (similar to chasemapper).
