I was chatting with a former artillery chap the other day who noticed the
handheld yagi on my passenger seat. He recalled routine proofing of new
batches of 105mm shells with balloon launches.
I also was chatting with someone from DST this morning who said they put up
balloons occasionally for laser related research.
